What Does Brow Lift Entail?
Lateral Subcutaneous Brow Lift
This technique is best suited to patients who require minimal to moderate rejuvenation and can be performed using local anesthesia with sedation if desired. An incision is made just above the temple, typically along the hairline. The underlying tissues are lifted and repositioned, and any excess skin is removed. The outer edges and peak of the brows will be raised, providing a more youthful appearance.
Coronal Brow Lift
This option is best for patients who require more extensive correction. Coronal brow lift surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia. Starting at ear level, an incision is made that moves up parallel to the hairline across the crown of the head. The incision is usually made within the hairline so the scar can be hidden. The skin is lifted, and the muscles and underlying tissues are removed or repositioned to produce a smoother appearance. This procedure typically takes between one and three hours to complete.
Brow Lift Recovery
Immediately after your procedure, you will experience some bruising, swelling, and tightness. These can be remedied with cold compresses and medication.
It is recommended that you sleep with your head elevated for at least the first three to four days to minimize swelling. Most patients can return to work in seven to 10 days. Strenuous physical activity should be avoided for several weeks.
