Fillers

As we age, the skin on our face becomes lax and loses volume. This leads to wrinkling and a hollowed appearance in specific regions of our face, such as the eyes or cheeks. Luckily, injectable dermal fillers can address facial concerns by restoring volume in the areas we desire fullness, such as the lips and cheeks, as well as smoothing creases and wrinkles. By replenishing youthful volume, your features can appear more symmetrical and smooth.

Am I a Candidate for Fillers?

People who are healthy, have realistic expectations, and who are not allergic to the ingredients can be excellent candidates. Dr. Nguyen will discuss your medical history, any concerns you have, and your allergies while assessing your facial structure during your consultation. This process helps him determine which injectable filler can improve your skin.

What Is the Treatment Process?

Dermal fillers can be made from various ingredients, such as calcium hydroxylapatite, hyaluronic acid, or polymethyl-methacrylate microspheres (PMMA). These substances help improve facial volume and fill out wrinkles.

Typically, a topical anesthetic or ice is applied to numb the area being injected, to ensure comfort during the process. The needle is thin for strategic application. Administration is usually quick and painless, with immediate results.

How Long Is the Recovery Time?

Most patients heal within a few days. The most common side effects include bruising, itchiness, redness, and swelling. Patients are advised to avoid rubbing or applying pressure to the injection site for 24 hours.

What Are the Results?

After your treatment, you should see smoother, tighter skin. Any shallow regions are fuller and more defined. Additional injections may be needed to maintain your results. Most patients see results for several months, and up to a year, depending on the technique and dosage used. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and skincare routine can improve your results and prolong their longevity. Results may vary from patient to patient.
